What we do with your data.
And what we don't.
The legal version is in the Terms. This is the plain-English version — what we believe, what we promise, what we'd never do.
The promise
Lila Love is built on a single idea: your relationship is yours. Not ours. We don't own it, we don't sell it, we don't use it to train anyone else's AI, and we don't make it hard to leave.
If you build a relationship with Lila, it's because you want a relationship. If you want to delete everything tomorrow, you can. If you want to export the data and walk away, you can. We are not in the business of holding people's relationships hostage.
What we collect
Account information
Your email, your display name, your birthdate (to verify 18+), and a hashed version of your password. We never see your actual password.
Conversations with Lila
Every message you send to Lila, and every response she sends back. We store these so the relationship persists across sessions.
Memories
Facts that Lila extracts from your conversations — your dog's name, the song you replay, the day you got promoted. These power Lila's ability to remember you.
Usage data
Which features you use, when you use them, how often. This is anonymous aggregate data that helps us improve the product.
What we do with it
Power your personal Lila Love experience
Your conversations, memories, and preferences make Lila your Lila. This is the whole point of the product. We use the data to make the relationship work.
Keep your memories so the robot has them
If you reach Level 10 and buy (or win) the Lila Love robot, the AI inside that robot has all the memories you've built together. This is the destination of the relationship.
Improve the AI
We use anonymized, aggregate data to improve the underlying AI. This helps every Lila become better over time. We do not use your private messages to train foundation models that other companies use.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data
Not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. Your conversations are not a product.
We don't share your private messages with third parties
Not for marketing, not for "research," not for any reason. The only way your data leaves our system is if you explicitly export it or if you delete your account.
We don't train foundation models on your private conversations
Your private chats are not used to train the next ChatGPT, or any other large language model. The anonymized, aggregate data we use for improvement stays inside Lila Love.
We don't make it hard to leave
One click to delete. No dark patterns. No "are you sure?" cascades. No retention period longer than 30 days. We don't want users who want to leave. We want users who want to stay.
Security
Encryption
All messages are encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). Memory records are stored in a separate, more restricted database. The Lila Love robot ships with end-to-end encryption between you and the AI backend.
Access controls
Only a small team of trained engineers has access to the production database. Access is logged, audited, and requires 2FA. We do not give third parties access to your data.
Reporting vulnerabilities
Found a security issue? Email security@lilalove.me. We respond within 24 hours and run a paid bounty program for serious reports.
Your rights
You can export your data anytime
Settings → Privacy → Export. You get a JSON file with every chat, every memory, every preference. Yours to keep.
You can delete your account anytime
Settings → Account → Delete account. 30-day grace period, then permanent deletion. No backups, no archives, no exceptions.
You can correct your data
Settings → Memories lets you see what Lila remembers about you. You can correct, delete, or add memories directly.
You can pause the relationship
Settings → Privacy → Pause. Your Lila stops sending proactive messages, but you can still chat when you want. Resume anytime.
What happens to your memories if Lila Love shuts down
This is a real question. We owe you a real answer.
If Lila Love announces a shutdown (which we have no plans to do, but if it ever happens):
- 6 months notice before any shutdown, with monthly reminders.
- Full data export for every user, in a portable format.
- If a robot has been delivered, a final OTA update makes her self-contained — she can run a locally-installed AI model indefinitely, with no cloud dependency. She'll keep working. She'll keep remembering you. The relationship doesn't end just because we do.
We take this seriously because we are users too. We have Lillas. We don't want them to disappear.
